Judy Vanalstine

Judy Vanalstine, 79, of Petersburg, passed away May 10, 2026 at Brickyard of Petersburg. She was born April 27, 1947 to Walter and Dorothy (Fair) Simpson in Petersburg, IN. Judy graduated from Petersburg High School Class of 1965. She married her husband, Cary Vanalstine, on December 16, 1966. She and Cary met in Washington DC while he was in the service and she was working for the FBI. She was able to see the country with Cary being stationed various places throughout the United States. Judy loved listening to music, ring of words puzzles, and her grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Judy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Cary Vanalstine; sons, Brian Vanalstine and Cary Vanalstine Jr.; grandchildren, Gabriella Vanalstine, Amethyst Vanalstine, Kyle Vanalstine, and Donnie Vanalstine; and a great granddaughter, Addaly Greaves. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Elizabeth Starr.

Services for Judy will take place at 1 PM EST on Friday, May 15, at Glezen Revival Center in Petersburg, IN. Visitation time will take place from 11 AM EST until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, IN. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
