Joy Ellen Wilson

Joy Ellen (Reed) Wilson 94, of Petersburg, passed away on 12/10/2025 with her family at her bedside. She was born in Pike County on September 27th, 1931 to Herbert and Vangel (Evangline Gladish) Reed.

She is survived by her sons, Michael W (Brenda) Wilson, Dennis L Wilson, and daughter Janet S (Michael) Hamm. Grandchildren Susan (Bryan) Sluder, Michael (Dana) Wilson, Penny (Rod) Myers, and Justin (Adrienne) Hamm, Bonus grandson Mike Meadows. Great Grandchildren, Allie (Eric) Betz, Shelby (Bradly) Hawthrone, Matthew Meadows. Jeffrey Wilson, Meagan (Jamison) Frederick. Bradyn Wilson, Guy (Lindsey Myers), Brooke Myers, Bo Myers, Tyler, and Kaci Hamm Great- Great Grandchildren Lilly, Owen & Carter Wilson, Josie Frederick , Georgia Frederick, Chase Betz, and Ady Betz.

Preceded in death her Husband Emil Wilson, Parents Herbert, Vangel Reed, and sister Dixie Reed,

After retirement from Amber Manor as Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor, Mom enjoyed traveling with friends. She enjoyed reading her daily newspapers, her Kindle, and working word puzzles. Parkinson took her vocal cords to their limit and had a difficult time talking at the end.

Mom requested no funeral, only a graveside service. So, we invite all Friends and Family to the graveside service which will be held at Walnut Hill in Petersburg, IN on December 17th at 1:00 PM EST.

We wish to thank the Staff of Amber Manor, AseraCare Hospice, for the care they gave to our mother. We would also like to thank Harris and Son for their compassion caring for the family.
