Joseph A. Purl, 89, of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Linda E. White Hospice in Evansville.  He was born in Pike County, Indiana on June 12, 1932 to Elzer and Mayme (Nance) Purl.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had worked for Conrail railroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Rosemary, Margie and Betty.

He is survived by his wife Betty (Shepherd) Purl; sons Damon, Randy & Mark Purl; daughter Cathy Robbins; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters Lynn Heacock & Doris Ann Price.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Campbelltown, Pastor Joe Henson officiating.
