John Ray White

John Ray White, 81, of Petersburg, passed away June 15, 2026 in Jasper, IN. He was born January 29, 1945 to Oliver and Florabelle (Dawson) White in Winslow, IN. John attended Petersburg High School and finished his schooling in the United States Navy. He served from 1963 to 1965 and again from 1974 to 1976. He spent his life working as a truck driver. John was a member of the American Legion Oakland City Post. He loved Nascar and fishing but dearly loved his dog, Little Girl/ Big Momma.

John is survived by his son, Shawn White; grandson, Johnathon White; granddaughter, Tatum White; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy White; and niece, Theresa Wagner.

A graveside service will take place at 10 AM EST on Tuesday, June 30, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
