Jimmie L. Freeland, age 88, entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Deaconess

Gateway Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Left to cherish Jimmie's memories are his wife of 67 years, Catherine; his sons, Steve (Janice) Freeland

and James (Rebekah) Freeland; his brother, Wally; daughter-in-law, Carolyn. He was preceded in death

by his parents and son, Greg Freeland.

Jimmie came to personally know Jesus as his Lord and Savior during his time serving in the U.S. Air

Force. While he was serving in the military, he would often have to travel ahead of time before

Catherine and the kids could join him at the new base. Catherine takes comfort knowing again he has

gone ahead of her, but that she will see him again in heaven.

There are many things to say about Jimmie and the life he led. He was a Lieutenant Colonel, flew over

1,000 hours, and enjoyed being able to see the world. Jimmie deeply loved his family and was

passionate about his faith. Jimmie leaves a legacy behind in his family's heart and memories.

Services for Jimmie will take place 10 AM EST on Saturday, October 29, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 4 to 8 PM EST on Friday, October 28, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Anderson Chapel Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
