Margaret Jean Bahr, 93, of Petersburg died Tuesday, November 21 at Amber Manor Care Center.
Jean was a 1943 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Nashville, TN, and a 1947 graduate of Purdue University where she studied Merchandising in the Home Economics College.  She has been a member of the Chi Omega Fraternity for over 70 years.
Jean was a member of the Petersburg Browning Club, Women's Club, Psi Iota Xi, United Methodist Women and Garden Club where she also served as president.  Jean enjoyed playing in various bridge clubs and is past treasurer of the Logan Cemetery.
Jean and Bill hosted 8 foreign exchange students through AISE program.
Margaret Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ruth (Logan) Helfenbein, and her husband, Wilfred (Bill) Bahr.
Margaret Jean (Helfenbein), is survived by: Byron (Linda) of Denver, NC, John (Sue) of Richardson, TX, Richard (Karen) of St. Charles, MO, and Phillip (Teresa) of Menlo Park, CA; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Sampson of Indianapolis, a niece and a nephew.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the 1 p.m. service at Harris Funeral Home on Friday, December 1.  Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Petersburg Garden Club or First United Methodist Church of Petersburg.
