Evansville, IN–Jason Alan Dickson died on August 12th, 2026. He was 51.

Jason was born in Vincennes, Indiana on January 13, 1975, the eldest child of Joseph Alan and Jane Ann (Harker) Dickson.

Jason is survived by his father (Devara) and brothers; Jon (Hilary) and Justin. Jason will also be forever missed by his beloved nieces and nephews: Eleanor, Norman, Audrey, Charles, Gabriel, and Franceska.

He was predeceased by his mother and grandparents.

In addition to learnings from his parents, Jason grew up very close to both sets of grandparents, developing lifelong skills of character and work ethic so key to his success in life. As a child, his summer days and Saturday mornings were spent with his beloved Grandpa Gettis, tending to needs on the farm. These hours filled Jason with lessons on mechanics, crop and livestock production agriculture, business finances, self-confidence, community, prayer, and faith. After attaining his BSAgE from Purdue, Jason worked in grain handling equipment at Riley Equipment, then later at Ripco. Jason greatly enjoyed developing his relationships with suppliers and customers throughout his career, considering many of them personal friends.

Whether by nature or necessity, Jason could never be still when someone was working or needed help. His unlimited generosity and willingness to be the first to offer help will be remembered and profoundly missed. He had an innate ability to see issues first and find solutions. Jason enjoyed gathering with family, playing cards and watching sports with friends, and telling stories either from his experiences or treasured tales handed down from earlier generations.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 PM EST on Tuesday, August 18, at the 1st United Methodist Church in Petersburg, IN. Funeral services will take place at 10 AM EST on Wednesday, August 19, at the 1st United Methodist Church. Pastor Josh Sanders will be officiating and burial will follow at Otwell Cemetery in Otwell, IN.
