Iris Ann Sneed, 93 of Otwell, Indiana, passed away May 6, 2024 at St. Charles Nursing Center, Jasper, Indiana. She was born April 2, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, to Orville and Nora (Ryan) McNamer.

Iris married the love of her life, James Sneed, in Argo, Illinois on July 21, 1950. James was an ordained minister and Iris served loyally at his side as they pastored Pilgrim Holiness Churches in Mason, Illinois (6 years), Petersburg, Indiana (25 years), and Charleston, Illinois (13 years). Iris began a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at a young age and serving Him was her priority. She had a passion for the local church (Twin Oaks Church) and did not want to miss a service. She was a person of piety, prayer and Bible reading.

A son, James Leroy Sneed (Cheryl), and a daughter Sharon Lemon (Mark), were born to James' and Iris's union. Iris deeply loved her family and her greatest delight was being together with them. She instructed them in the ways of the Lord and prayed over them daily. She desired that the circle in Heaven include each one of her family members.

Iris's grandchildren were her pride and joy! She was abundantly blessed to call them her own. Her 8 grandchildren include Leah (Dan) Plemmons, Crystal (Jeff) Smith, Tamra Craycraft, Tonya (Sam) Sweet, Tara King, Trina (Sam) Stuart, Tyler (Denae) Lemon, Todd (Ladonna) Lemon. Also, her 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren were most special to her.

Iris cherished her many friends that she met down throughout her years and will be greatly missed until that Glad Reunion Day.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Sneed; her son, James Leroy Sneed; her parents Orville and Nora McNamer; and her brother Bobby McNamer.

Services for Iris will take place at 2 PM EST on Friday, May 10, at the Twin Oaks Church in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 11 AM until service time. Pastor Barry Whitaker will be officiating and burial will follow at the Twin Oaks Church Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
