Helen (Goodpasture) Blackburn Newkirk, 94, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on August 7, 2025.

She was born to George and Edith Goodpasture in Petersburg, Indiana.  She was a member of Petersburg First Christian Church, being baptized on December 19, 2004.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Carol (Dwayne) Austin & Janet (Mark) Meals, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Dennis Blackburn, two sisters and three grandsons.  Also preceding her in death was her first husband of 32 years, Frank Blackburn, and later her husband of 19 years, Dello Newkirk.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm EST on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, Pastor Tim Padgett officiating.  Visitation will be from 2:00pm EST until service time at the funeral home.
