Gladys A. Wood, 75, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at Amber Manor.

She was born on July 8, 1947, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Marcial Pou Ricart and Gladys Maria Leon Pereira.

She was a homemaker deeply devoted to caring for (and spoiling) her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Sonia Josefina Pou Leon.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 53 years, Don Wood of Petersburg,IN; sons: Marcial (Beth) Wood of Petersburg, IN and Tony (David) Wood of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren Brittney (Nathan) Harrison of Evansville, IN, Logan Wood of Evansville, IN, and Jazzlynn Wood of Bristow, IN; great-grandchild Emma Leeann Harrison; and sister Matilde Maria Pou Leon of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, IN.  Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN.  Per her wishes, her body will be cremated following the services.
