Gene O. Dorsey, 99, passed away December 13, 2019 at Amber Manor in Petersburg, IN. He was born April 29, 1920 to George Luther and Ethel (Lemonds) Dorsey in Pike County. Gene was an Army Veteran and served proudly in World War II. He retired from the coal mine at Yankeetown Dock and also farmed for over 60 years. Gene loved auctions and the television show Family Feud.

Gene is survived by his son, David Dorsey of Petersburg; daughters, Judy (Jack) Arterberry of Wadesville and Rebecca "Becky" Gregory of Otwell; five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and daughter in law, Gayle Dorsey. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vonda (Brenton) Dorsey; son, Tommy Dorsey; his parents; and sister, Ina Weisman.

The family will hold a private service at a later date. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
