Gaylord Leon Ashcraft, 99, of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born August 4, 1925 to Clyde and Margaret (Baldwin) Ashcraft in Monroe City, IN. Following graduation from Monroe City High School he enlisted in the United States Navy and served seven years. Gaylord was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific, American Theatre, and Victory Medals. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as the Superintendent of Postal Operations in Petersburg.

Gaylord is survived by his nephews, Boyd Ashcraft and Duaine Ashcraft.

Gaylord was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Helen (Adams) Ashcraft and Virginia (Beck) Ashcraft.

In accordance with Gaylord's wishes there are no services. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg is entrusted with care.
