Gary Daniel Phillips, 79, of Otwell, passed away December 9, 2024, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, IN. He was born April 18, 1945, to Dan and Mamie (Christmas) Phillips in Princeton, IN. Gary worked as a mining consultant in the coal mining industry for many years. He was an avid Model T collector and loved working in his blacksmithing forge at his home.

Gary is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Phillips; daughter, Micki Aaserud; grandchildren, Johnny (Lauren) Hayes, Shannon (Gary) Smith; great grandchild, Cooper Smith; sister, Mary Phillips; stepson, Scott (Scarlett) Fulcher; step grandchild, Serenity Fulcher; and many beloved friends and family.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra "Cookie" Phillips, his parents, and his two brothers, George Phillips and Bob Phillips.

A visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. EST on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg Indiana. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. EST on Thursday, December 12th at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Otwell Cemetery in Otwell Indiana with Pastor Scott Fulcher will be officiating.
