Garnet Wilcox, 90, of Petersburg, IN passed peacefully from this world, to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on October 9th, 2026.

She leaves behind a son, David Wilcox, a daughter, Barbara Hedrick, and a stepdaughter, Karen Moyes. David has a son, Jeremy Wilcox, and a daughter, Elizabeth McHugh, who has 2 children, Lillian and Dezmond McHugh. Barbara has a daughter and 2 sons. Her daughter, Angie Nunn, and her husband, Justin Nunn, have 6 children, Natalie, Cesily, Emma, Amelia, Isabella and Simon Nunn. She has 3 children, (Rick) Jane Armstrong Seidel, Jennifer Armstrong and Joe Armstrong. Karen has 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Garnet lived a life fully devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was the epitome of a “good and faithful servant.” She lived for the world to see Jesus. She spent years teaching Sunday school, vacation Bible school and was an active member in the local community churches since she went to several different churches over the years. Garnet gave years of love, discipline and teaching to her children and grandchildren. Whether it was a ride somewhere, money, her own possessions or just a hug, Garnet was always quick to share what she had. If she told you she was praying for you, you knew it was true. She leaves a legacy of faith, love and hope that in everything she did would point to the love of Jesus. She loved her family, worship music, long walks, healthy food, animals of all kinds, especially cats. She loved reading, especially her Bible and studying scripture. She had a special love for praise and worship of the Lord. She lived what she believed. That believing in Jesus was the most important thing that anyone can do. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Private family services were held under the care of Harris Funeral Home.
