Derek Lee West, 36, entered into rest May 27, 2018 in Evansville surrounded by family and friends after a long battle. He was born March 10, 1982 in Evansville to David West and Cindy Willis Tharp. Derek was an avid Cardinals fan, and loved fishing and four wheeler riding.

He is survived by his parents, David (Micky) West and Cindy Tharp; sisters, April 'Sweet Mookie" (Derek) Bement and Cassie (Randy) Ennis; nephew, Alton Ennis; niece, Harlee Rose Bement; granny, Connie Willis; and several aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his step father, Rusty Tharp; grandfather, Pappy Willis; and grandmother, Stella West.

Services for Derek will be held at 1 PM EST on Friday, June 1, at the Antioch Christian Church in Washington, IN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, from 4-8 PM at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN and 11 until service time on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at the Antioch Cemetery and Pastor Keith Meece will be officiating. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
