Denver "Bud" Wolven, 88, of Placentia, CA, passed away on September 1, 2023. Bud was known for his sense of humor, hardworking nature, and his service as a proud veteran of the US Navy. He dedicated 38 years to working on the railroad, eventually retiring as a Train Master for the EJ&E in 1991. Bud is survived by his children, Chris, Jeff (Susan), and Karen (Steve); his grandchildren Jeffrey Tomlinson, Scott Wolven, Marrissa Crum, Cody Wolven, and Hattie Craig; brothers Dan and Mike; and sisters Shirley Willis and June Peach. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jo, brother Stan, and sister Joyce Stone. Bud's military associations were an integral part of his life, and he proudly served in the US Navy during his younger years. A true patriot, his dedication and commitment to his country were unquestionable. Bud had an equal commitment to the railroad, often missing holidays as well as school and family events due to a dizzying work schedule. A private graveside service will be held October 14th at 3:00 p.m. at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, IN. Contributions in his memory can be made to a charitable organization of your choice. Bud will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will live  on in our hearts.
