David Matthew Aaserud, 55, of Otwell, passed away December 4, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN. He was born February 24, 1969, to Erling and Marlene (Peterson) Aaserud in Minneapolis, MN. David was an old truck and classic car enthusiast. He loved listening to classic rock music and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed playing Fortnite with his friends and family. He and his wife, Micki (Phillips) Aaserud were married on August 11, 2001.

David is survived by his wife, Micki (Phillips) Aaserud; his mother, Marlene (Peterson) Aaserud; son, Johnny (Lauren) Hayes; daughter, Shannon (Gary) Smith; grandson, Cooper Smith; sisters, Beth Aaserud and Sara (Darrin) McKown; beloved pup, Beatrice; and many extended loved ones and family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Erling Aaserud and his brother, Danny Aaserud.

In accordance with David's wishes for cremation a memorial service will take place at 2 PM EST on Saturday, December 28, with visitation from 11 AM EST until service time at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent in David's memory to PAWS of Petersburg. Donations may be mailed to PO Box 63, Petersburg, IN 47567.
