Daniel Gilliland, age 94, passed away July 18, 2026, with Marie by his side.

He was born January 14, 1932, the fourth child of Raymond and Martha (Meinhart) Gilliland.

Daniel graduated from Otwell High School in 1950. He married Marie (McLaughlin) in May of 1954.

He began his working career at Seeger Corp. in Evansville, which eventually became Whirlpool Corp. He retired in 1993.

Daniel was a man who lived his faith daily. He served the Lord by participating in mission trips through Baptist International Missions. He traveled to Japan, Venezuela, Fiji, Bolivia and Mexico, as well as various places in the U.S.

He survived by his wife Marie, daughter Kathy, and grandson Steven (Amber).

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Virginia, Jack, Mary and Jim, and his son-in-law John Alsobrooks.

Visitation will be Friday, July 24 from Noon until 3:00pm (EST) at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 3:00pm, with Pastor Don Fausnaugh officiating, and burial to follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
