CJ Meadors, of Petersburg, Indiana, was a beloved Pop-paw, father, brother, uncle, son, and friend during his incredible 94 years of life. He passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg. He was born on April 27, 1930, to Clara (Clark) and Cecil Meadors and raised in Otwell, Indiana.

CJ graduated from Otwell High School in 1948 and married his high school sweetheart, Betty Wood, on December 18, 1950. He enjoyed working for many years as a mechanic for Scraper's and Elmer Buchta and as a Millwright, where he was a member of Local 1076 for over 50 years. He was also a charter member of the Otwell Ruritan Club. CJ enjoyed spending time on his farm, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

CJ is survived by his sons, Steve (Mindy, daughter-in-law of 46 years) Meadors and Eric (Candy) Meadors; sister Margaret Meadors; brother-in-law John Fowler; grandchildren Brady (Heather) Meadors, Casey (Julia) Meadors, Ryne (David) Meadors, Marcee (Kurtis) Landsaw, and Nicole (Andy) Robling; great-grandchildren Caden, Chase, Macee, Kenly, Gage, and Meelan; and housekeeper and friend Julie McFarland.

His parents preceded him in death, along with his wife of 58 years, Betty (Wood) Meadors; their son Nick Meadors; a brother, Billy Joe Meadors; and four sisters:  Evelyn Willis, Edith Johnson, Barbara Boger, and Mary Alice Davis.

Services for CJ will take place at Noon on Monday, August 19, 2024, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at Otwell Cemetery, services officiated by Pastor Greg Davis.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00am until service time.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations please be made to the Otwell Cemetery at 4175 N. Co. Rd. 625 E. Otwell, IN 47564 or the Otwell Ruritan Club at PO Box 58 Otwell, IN 47564.
