Carol Ferguson, 75, formerly of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born on September 6, 1948 to Charles and Cathryn Bent in Evansville, Indiana.  She married Richard Ferguson on December 5, 1969, enjoying 43 years of marriage together before his death in 2013.

Carol was a graduate of Fort Branch High School and Deaconess School of Nursing.  She worked briefly as a Registered Nurse at Gibson General Hospital before choosing to focus her attention on being at home to raise her family.  She was an avid reader & sports fan, but, most of all, she had an overflowing love for her grandchildren and enjoyed following all of their activities and events.  She was a member of Main Street Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and brothers Darryl & Bill Bent.

Carol is survived by her daughters Stacey (David) Yankey & Heather (Craig) Campbell, sister Dawn Lindauer, and grandchildren Caleb, Katie & Micah Yankey and Lexa & Jacobi Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm EST on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Main Street Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00pm EST until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations please be made to Somebody's Place and may be mailed to 27 W. Locust St. Petersburg, IN 47567.
