Barbara June Sweet, of Winslow, Indiana, passed away at 7:19 p.m. on September 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband and daughter.

She was born on March 13, 1948, in Princeton, Indiana.  She was the firstborn of William Virden and Mildred (Meyer) Virden.  She was married on March 26, 1977, to Norman (Norm) Sweet.

She moved from Francisco, Indiana, to St. Louis, Missouri.  She then retired from International Shoe and finally resided in Winslow, Indiana, where she worked as a housekeeper, storm spotter, and a member of the Winslow Lions Club, and also a co-writer of Sweets Column since September 23, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her parents William & Mildred (Meyer) Virden, and her sister Teresa (Virden) Nicholson.

She is survived by her husband, Norm Sweet; a daughter, Laura (Sweet) Hensley; 2 granddaughters, Kyana Hensley of Eckerty, Indiana, and Grace Hensley of Winslow, Indiana.  She is also survived by her brother, George (Deby) Virden of Benton, Illinois, and a brother-in-law, Theodore (Ted) Nicholson of Alfordsville, Indiana.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
