Arbutus Maxine Reed  88

Arbutus was a long time, Algiers community Pike county resident that was loved by numerous friends and family.

Arbutus passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday May 6, 2019 after a lengthy illness.

Born in Winslow, Indiana January 30, 1931 she was well known for her many years of work at the Jay C store from where she retired in the late 80's.

Arbutus was a long time member of the Algiers United Methodist church.

She is survived by a brother, Jerry Johnson of Petersburg her son and daughter in law, Tony and Pam Cundiff of Houston Texas. four grandsons, Jeremy Cundiff from Palm Coast Florida, Shad Cundiff, Nathan and Chance Cundiff from Houston, Texas Fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great-grand daughter.

She was preceded in death by a son Joey Dee Cundiff, a brother George Johnson, sister Lena Swain and late husband Georgie James Reed.

Visitation will be held Friday at the Harris funeral home in Petersburg from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Service will be on Saturday at 12:00 a.m. with burial at Walnut Hills Cemetery.  She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
