Alene Mae Grubb, 95, of Petersburg, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026 at Amber Manor Care Center. She was born September 7, 1930 in Cincinnati, OH to Al and Virginia (Graham) Campbell. She graduated from Petersburg High School and went on to become the librarian at Petersburg Elementary School for many years. Alene married her husband Jerrell Grubb on November 7, 1949 and enjoyed 33 years of marriage together. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her friends. She was a faithful and oldest living active member of the First Christian Church of Petersburg.
Alene is survived by her daughters, Linda (Rick) Miley and Donna (Doug) Arnold; grandchildren, Stephanie (Brent) Johnson, Dustin (Amanda) Arnold, Jody (Phil) Claridge, Sondra (Jackson) Collins, Melissa Dale, and Jennifer Patrick; 6 great grandchildren; and nephew, Dennis (Tracie) Steinhart.
Alene is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Virginia Campbell; her husband, Jerrell Grubb; her son, Jerry Grubb; and her grandson, JR Grubb.
Services for Alene will take place at 1 PM EST on Friday, August 21, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation the night prior from 4-8 PM EST on Thursday, August 20, at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held from 9 AM EST until the service on Friday morning. Pastor Ronnie Ficklin and Pastor Tim Padgett will be officiating and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
