Aaron Kent Hyneman

Aaron Kent Hyneman, 73, of Oakland City, passed away August 5, 2026 in Evansville, IN. He was born February 4, 1953 to Aaron Kenneth and Milly (Myrick) Hyneman in Princeton, IN. Kent graduated from Petersburg High School Class of 1971. He worked as a coal miner at Old Ben II and spent 20 years with the UMWA Local 4343. He worked as a mechanic for 10 years with the Indiana State Highway Department. Kent owned Oakland City Mowing Sales and Service. Kent was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, the Labor Day Association, and a proud Eagle Scout. He was also a Pike County 4H volunteer and member and participated in the 4H growing up. Kent was a faithful member of the Good Shepherd Methodist Church in Oakland City. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

Kent is survived by his wife, Debra Hyneman; his sons, Aaron Kristen Hyneman and Nathan (Jill) Hyneman; grandchildren, Jackie Berry and Noah Berry; sister, Marylin (Wayne) Schuble; and nieces and nephews, Zachary Green, Tim (Jane) Schuble, Jill Altmeyer, Zander Green, Olivia Green and their families.

Kent is preceded in death by his sister, Karla Hyneman Green.

Services for Kent will take place at 2 PM EST on Monday, August 10, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with visitation from 11 AM EST until service time. Pastors Douglas Low and Mitch Breidenbaugh will be officiating and burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
