Roy W. Shoultz

Roy W. Shoultz, 58, of Petersburg, IN, passed away August 6, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 12, 1961 to the late Marion and Laura Lavon (Stone) Shoultz in Washington, IN.

Roy was a 1979 graduate of Pike Central High School. He was a lifetime coal miner, having retired from Vigo Coal/White Stallion Coal. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, the IOOF, and a current member of the Masonic Lodge Pike F&AM #121, Hadi Temple, and the Pike County Shrine Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, M. Shannon Owens and Nancy Smith; a niece, a nephew, and a great-great nephew.

Roy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jackie (Gottman) Shoultz; their children, Andrew (Emily) Shoultz of Knoxville, TN, Jana (Damon) Atkins of Oakland City, IN, and Lexus (Billy Smith) Shoultz of Petersburg; their precious grandchildren, Berkley and Lakin Atkins; and siblings, Charles Shoultz of Princeton, Jim Shoultz and Sherry Cockerham of Petersburg, and Debbie Sattler of Jasper.

Services for Roy will take place at 11 AM EST on Friday, Aug. 9, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM EST on Thursday, Aug. 8, at the funeral home and from 8 AM – time of service on Friday. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7 PM on Thursday evening. Pastor Mike Atkins will be officiating and burial will take place at Walnut Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hadi Shrine Temple Transport Fund. They may be mailed to Hadi Shrine PO Box 1 Evansville, IN 47701. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
