Kathryn "Judy" (Sims) Chamberlain, age 80, of Petersburg IN passed away unexpectedly at Deaconess Gateway Hospital on Friday, May 31st, 2019.
Judy was born November 20th, 1938 at home in Petersburg, IN to George Orace and Emma Lea (Songer) Sims. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1956 and married the love of her life Richard Chamberlain on September 8, 1956.
Judy, or Gran, as her family affectionately called her never failed to leave everyone she met with a smile. She never met a stranger. Her loud laugh and chatter will be missed by many.
Judy was a life long member of Brenton Chapel Church of Christ. She enjoyed singing to the residents at the local nursing homes with the other members of Brenton Chapel. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Xi Zeta Omega. She enjoyed gathering with the other Petersburg HS Alumni. Judy loved to travel and did so her whole life.
She is survived by her son and daughter in love, RIck and Lorice Chamberlain, grandchildren, Chelsa (Ryan) Knepp, Joe (Tanisha) Chamberlain, and Bonus granddaughter, Brooke (Dustin) Potts, great grandchildren, Brycen, Daegan, Corbin, and Avelyn Grace Knepp, Hudson Chamberlain and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, brother Jim Sims, son Stephen, and great grandson Andon Knepp.
Visitation will be held Thursday , June 6 from 4-8pm est at Harris Funeral Home, funeral service will be Friday, June 7th at 10am at Brenton Chapel Church of Christ with burial following at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. There will be a Beta Sigma Phi Memorial at 7PM on Thursday.
