Joyce Evelyn (Goodwin) Arthur

Joyce Evelyn Arthur, 88, passed away July 25 in Evansville. She was born June 14, 1930 in Daviess County to John and Zelma Goodwin. She worked as a bank teller and clerk for Citizens State Bank. She was also a life long member of Mt. Gilead Church.

Joyce is survived by her son, Gary (Jane) DeMotte; step daughters, Lana Spalding and Marsha (Bill) Pemberton; grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Feldmeier, Eric (Joanna) DeMotte, Kim (Joe) Robinson, Calla DeMotte; step grandchildren, Joshua Buente, Holly Goss, and Christy Minton; 11 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren; brothers, Nolan (Shirley) Goodwin and Bill (Ginny) Goodwin; sister, Cleo (Malcom) Radcliff.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Marion DeMotte and second husband, Robert Arthur; her son, Ronnie DeMotte; her parents; brother, Ivan Goodwin; sisters, Orma Grimm, Roberta Brower, and Doris Allison; and step son in law, Bill Spalding.

Services for Joyce will be held 2 PM EST on Saturday, July 28, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Pastor Clarence Miller will be officiating and committal service will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with care.
