Donald L. Gladish, 68, of Petersburg passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his home. He was born in Daviess County on June 10, 1951 to Leland and Eleanor Gladish.
He graduated from Petersburg High School in 1969 and received the National Merit Scholarship. Don graduated from the University of Evansville in 1974, He was a Biology and Physical Education teacher, truck driver, farmer, carpenter and dozer operator for Solar Sources for 40 years. Don retired in September of 2019. He continued working part time as a dozer operator. He an avid reader of literature and tractor pulling for many years winning many awards. Don was a lifetime sports enthusiast and co. captain of PHS football team. He received the most valuable player in the PAC conference in 1969. He very much enjoyed giving quizzes and puzzles to his family and friends, and caring for his beloved animals.
Surviving are: his wife, Tonya (Aldridge) Gladish of 20 years; one son, Brian Gladish; one daughter, Brandi Gladish; five grandchildren, Jade Gladish, Malaki Gladish, Julianna Gladish, Alivia Gladish, and Ashlynn Kirk; one great granddaughter, Braelyn Gladish; his Mother, Eleanor Gladish; and two sisters, Karen (Chuck) Eubank of Evansville, and Judith (Jimmy) Morris of Louisville, Ky. Don is also survived by 3 stepsons, Jason Clark, Jeremy Clark, and Kyle Smith, and two step grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by: his Father, Leland Gladish; brother, Joseph Gladish; grandparents, Foster & Alta Gladish, and O.F. & Phoebe Potts.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Sunday, October 20,2019, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 19, from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. Memorial contributions my be made to P.A.W.S. at P.O. Box 63, Petersburg, Indiana, 47567.
